Take it from someone who’s been around this whole template shop thing once before…
…It doesn’t have to be as elusive, frustrating, or out-of-reach as it seems.
If you’re anything like I was in my pre-template shop days, then your custom design work is your business’s breadwinner. Right?
And while you appreciate that part of your business, it’d also be nice to have a lot more time, financial, and creative freedom.
One of the easiest ways to achieve that freedom as a designer? A template shop! But, the problem then becomes – where the heck do I start?
I’ve been there, too, friend. In 2018 I launched my first Squarespace website template shop… and I was not thrilled with how it turned out.
I sold a total of maybe 3 templates in close to a year, and I felt so defeated. I had put in hours of work thinking they would fly off the shelves, and they did not. (If this is your worst fear come true, keep reading – it gets better!)
Fast forward to December of 2019, and I was ready to try again. I tossed my hurt ego aside and started to think critically about my previous process and made solid changes based on market research.
Then, in January 2020, I re-launched my shop with a whole new process, all new templates, and held my breath… And guess what? IT WORKED!
By June of 2020, I was selling over 70+ templates a month. This template shop completely transformed my business and DOUBLED my income from the previous year in just six months.
